We look forward to learning more about you, your commitment to serving those in need, and your potential as a leader and innovator in the child welfare sector.
Foster America’s fellowship program attracts extraordinary professionals from a variety of backgrounds. With skills in strategy & implementation, design & marketing, data analytics & technology, or public finance, Foster America fellows provide the spark to create dramatic change and improve the lives of children.
Our fellows work full-time at government or nonprofit child welfare agencies for 18 months, joining reform-minded colleagues and mentors to pursue better results. Each fellow leads a major reform project that requires his or her specialized skills. Projects target high-leverage parts of the child welfare system that are ripe for change.
We seek fellows who are results-oriented, mission-driven, and innovative. They have a rare combination of brilliance and humility, along with a growth mindset and track record of achievement, creativity, and grit. The ideal candidate possesses coalition building skills and a demonstrated passion for serving vulnerable children. If you have the courage to tackle difficult problems, and find inspiration where others see barriers, we encourage you to learn more and apply.
The Foster America fellowship is an 18-month, full-time commitment. Our next cohort of fellows will begin their service in January 2019.
General applications for the Foster America fellowship will be accepted until September 24, 2018. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and candidates are encouraged to apply early.
Position-specific job descriptions will be posted in detail on the website as they become finalized, likely between August-September 2018. Candidates will have the opportunity to review all available positions and identify the roles for which they would like to be considered.
