Recruitment + Selection

Although the deadline for our active recruitment cycle has passed, we continue to solicit applications for a limited number of positions in our second cohort and encourage you to complete our candidate application form. We are particularly seeking applicants with expertise in data analytics and technology strategy for fellowship roles beginning in January 2018. Our Application Process

Round 1 - Submit a Letter of Intent & Resume:
Candidates will fill out a general application form, write a letter of intent, and upload a resume.

Round 2 - Phone Interview:
Selected applicants will be invited for a 30 minute phone interview with a member of the Foster America team.

Round 3 - Video Interview:
Selected applicants will be invited to an hour-long interview with a member of Foster America’s leadership team. They will also indicate preferences for specific fellowship projects, complete short answer questions to summarize their skills for their desired roles, and provide three references.

Round 4 - Selection Day: 
Selected applicants will be invited to an in-person Selection Day in Washington, DC, where finalists will meet each other, complete group and one-on-one interviews, and meet leaders in the child welfare sector. Selection Days for the second cohort will be held on September 25 and November 11, 2017.

Offer: 
Finalists will meet with representatives from the relevant host agency for final consideration and job offer. Final offers are contingent upon completion of the host agency’s hiring processes, likely including civil service exams and background checks.

Training + Placement: 
Fellows will receive an intensive training prior to the start of their placement with the child welfare agency. Training and the start of the fellowship will take place in January 2018.
