We look forward to learning more about you, your commitment to serving those in need, and your potential as a leader and innovator in the child welfare sector.

Foster America’s fellowship program attracts extraordinary professionals from a variety of sectors. Bringing skills from business, public health, education, marketing, technology, and public policy, Foster America fellows provide the spark to create dramatic change and improve the lives of children.

Our fellows are embedded at government or nonprofit child welfare agencies, joining reform-minded colleagues and mentors to pursue better results. Each fellow leads a major reform project that requires his or her specialized skills. Projects target high-leverage parts of the child welfare system that are ripe for change.

The Foster America fellowship is a year-long, full-time commitment with an option to continue for a second year. The inaugural cohort of fellows began in October 2016. We are presently recruiting our second cohort, whose year of service will begin in the fall of 2017.

We seek fellows who are results-oriented, mission-driven, and innovative. They have a rare combination of brilliance and humility, along with a track record of commitment, achievement, creativity, and grit. The ideal candidate possesses coalition building skills and the ability to get along with diverse groups of people. If you have the courage to tackle difficult problems, and find inspiration where others see barriers, we encourage you to learn more and apply.

Although the deadline for our active recruitment cycle has passed, we are always interested in hearing from motivated candidates. We encourage you to complete our candidate application form and return it along with your resume and a brief cover letter. Our team will review your materials and be in touch when our next application cycle begins. We look forward to hearing from you; please contact recruit@foster-america.org with any questions.
